Explore and experiment within the world of contemporary classical music.
Do you create original music? Are you interested in how contemporary classical might open new horizons in your practice?
EXPERIMENTA is a brand new scheme offering four artists the chance to be supported by Manchester Collective’s musicians and creative team to write and showcase new work. You don’t have to be musically trained to take part, though you can be. Your work may sit within a different genre or defy categorisation altogether. What you’ll need is lots of musical curiosity, real commitment to your practice and the courage to take risks.
Applications are now open until 12 January 2025 (11:59pm) and the programme runs from February to summer 2025. This opportunity is specifically for artists who are either based in the north of England, or elsewhere in the UK and have experienced barriers to entry into the contemporary classical world.

EXPERIMENTA is supported by PRS Foundation’s Talent Development Network, Thriplow Charitable Trust, Idlewild Trust, Garrick Trust, and Granada Foundation.
