About the author

Jo Frost has over 30 years experience working in the music industry as a journalist, consultant and curator. Formerly editor of Songlines magazine, where she worked for close to 20 years, Jo is now freelance and enjoys writing and consulting on world, jazz and folk music. An internationally respected authority on music from around the world, with an extensive network of contacts, Jo has a passion for the arts’ power to connect people. She’s currently the international development trustee for the English Folk Expo and worked as project manager of the third and most recent edition of Global Music Match, the award-winning online artist development and collaboration programme. She first attended WOMEX in 2002 and has been a regular delegate ever since, co-presenting the Awards Ceremony in 2021 and 2022.
