National Youth Symphonic Brass Wales with Francesca Kay conducted by Matthew Thistlewood perform Gareth Wood’s Sea Dogs - a Tŷ Cerdd commission especially for our younger audience.

Kate Woolveridge: Finding Your Voice
Welsh National Opera mezzo- soprano Kate leads a workshop on vocal and warm-up techniques and shows the importance of control and how to produce a safe and gentle sound in rehearsals. Her accompanist is Rhiannon Pritchard.
Come and Sing!: Choruses from Haydn's Creation with Adrian Partington
BBC National Chorus of Wales Chorus Master and Director of Music at Gloucester Cathedral and the Three Choirs Festival, Adrian workshops and conducts choruses from the Creation by Haydn. His accompanist is Steve Kings.
Keynote speaker: Howard Snell: "Have I got the talent?"
The former principal trumpet of the London Symphony Orchestra is a brass band composer and conductor and has developed an approach to playing which makes the most of a player's individual talent.
Andrew Duncan: Ensuring a Bright Future for Brass Bands
Andrew is Development Manager for the Scottish Brass Band Association. 5 years ago Scotland had just 6 youth bands - now there are 56. How did they do it?
Keynote speaker: Paul Mealor: Contemporary Choral Music - An Illustrated Discussion
Paul Mealor, ‘the most important composer to have emerged in Welsh choral music since William Mathias’ (New York Times), addresses the challenges of programming contemporary music. This talk will be given in the company of Côrdydd.
Charlotte Neville: Set & Costume Design on a Budget
Charlotte is a Set Designer with Welsh National Opera and leads two sessions on set/lighting design and on costume design for operatic societies and musical theatre groups.
Concert & Event Planning
Worried about risk assessments, liability insurance, PRS and copyright issues? This session is for you! Stuart Isaac - Member Development Manager & Cindy Truong – Membership Services Manager from Making Music will address all those thorny issues surrounding the planning and administration of events.
Peter Reynolds: Writing for Wind Instruments
Peter Reynolds, leads a master class on writing for woodwind instruments in the company of the South Wales Clarinet Choir.
BBC National Orchestra of Wales: Ty Cerdd Showcase
This event is FREE to all delegates and begins at 19:00 in Hoddinott Hall. Conducted by Grant Llewellyn, with soloists Elin Manahan-Thomas & Llŷr Williams, BBC NOW performs a concert of Welsh music from the extensive archives of Tŷ Cerdd.

Gymanfa Ganu with Alwyn Humphreys
Raise the roof with a concluding conference Gymanfa Ganu in the Glanfa Foyer of the Wales Millennium Centre. Alwyn Humphreys conducts and two of Tŷ Cerdd’s affiliated brass bands: Abergavenny Borough Band and City of Cardiff Melingriffith Brass Band, accompany this bilingual event which is to be recorded by BBC Wales for future broadcast. Everyone is welcome to sing.
Llŷr Williams: Solo Recital
The great pianist from Rhosllanerchrugog includes Daniel Jones Bagatelles in his afternoon solo recital at Hoddinott Hall beginning at 14:00.
