Tŷ Cerdd Conference
We are delighted to announce details of the first ever Tŷ Cerdd Conference. This inspirational event for singers and instrumentalists will be held over the weekend of June 6-8 this year at the Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff, with an opening reception at the Senedd.
Our partners include: Welsh National Opera, BBC National Orchestra of Wales (BBC NOW) and Making Music to bring you the best practitioners and speakers. Keynote speakers include Paul Mealor, brass specialist Howard Snell, and Adrian Partington from BBC National Chorus of Wales. Other sessions feature Welsh composer Mervyn Burtch and Andrew Duncan of the Scottish Brass Band Association.
Saturday night features a concert by BBC NOW and explores the riches of Tŷ Cerdd’s archive, with works by Grace Williams, Daniel Jones, Alun Hoddinott and William Mathias.
We are able to offer our members all of this for a registration fee of only £5.00 (admission for non-members is £20). Students are granted free admission to the conference.
We intend this conference to be the first of many which celebrates the work of Tŷ Cerdd and its affiliated society members. Planning is underway for the next event which we hope to hold in North Wales, and your feedback will help us determine its shape.
