NATIONAL YOUTH SYMPHONIC BRASS WALES was formed by the Welsh Amateur Music Federation in 2004 with members drawn from existing and former national youth music brass players.
The Ensemble performed a newly commissioned fanfare to open the Wales Millennium Centre in November 2004.
In March 2006 they repeated the feat by performing for the opening of the National Assembly for Wales Senedd building, again with a new commission.
Thus the Ensemble has had the privilege of 'opening' two of Wales’s most iconic contemporary buildings.

Ffurfiwyd band PRES SYMFFONIG CENEDLAETHOL IEUENCTID CYMRU gan Ffederasiwn Cerddoriaeth Amatur Cymru yn 2004, ac mae’r chwaraewyr naill ai’n aelodau neu’n gyn-aelodau o fand pres cenedlaethol ieuenctid Cymru.
Perfformiwyd ffanffer ~ darn comisiwn newydd ~ gan yr Ensemble yn ystod seremoni agoriadol Canolfan y Mileniwm ym mis Tachwedd 2004, ac ym mis Mawrth 2006, bu’n perfformio yn agoriad adeilad Senedd y Cynulliad, gan gyflwyno, unwaith eto, ddarn comisiwn newydd.
Cafodd yr Ensemble, felly, yr anrhydedd o 'agor' dau o adeiladau mwyaf eiconig a chyfoes Cymru.
